I Scream, You Scream!

July is National Ice Cream Month! And, making it even sweeter, Sunday, July 19th, 2020 is National Ice Cream Day! Two fantastic reasons to grab a cool creamy treat and celebrate.

I’ve rounded up some of my favorite ice cream recipes for you to try, and there’s something for everyone: dairy free options, fancy options, fruity options, boozy options…this list has it all. Additionally, this list includes a variety of different methods you can use to make delicious homemade ice cream. Try one or try them all!

  1. No Churn Amaretto Ice Cream with Mixed Berry Swirl: An absolute MUST MAKE! This ice cream is no-churn, meaning there is no special equipment needed! The ice cream base includes just three simple ingredients, yet it yields some of the creamiest homemade ice cream I’ve ever had. Need I draw awareness to the Amaretto?
  2. Honey Goat Cheese Ice Cream with Nectarines and Thyme: We’re going all in with this recipe! Unique flavors sync up in perfection in this unexpected ice cream. The ice cream is sweet and tangy, and gets a healthy dose of summer by way of macerated nectarines and thyme!
  3. German Chocolate Cake Ice Cream with Coconut Rum Fudge Swirl  : An “ultimate” ice cream, for sure! Coconut rum spikes the fudge sauce that’s swirled in to this scrumptious ice cream. Extra coconut, please!
  4. Peanut Butter Banana Nice Cream: This frozen banana-based “nice cream” is so delicious, but it’s healthy! Perfect for satiating your sweet tooth with minimal effort and without overindulging!
  5. Maple Bourbon Ice Cream with Salted Caramel Swirl : Maple and salted caramel are truly meant to be! This ice cream is sweet, salty, and crunchy. It’s tough to not have one more scoop…
  6. No Churn Toasted Almond Mocha Ice Cream : This dairy free ice cream is a dream! Toasted almonds, espresso, and a supremely chocolatey base makes this ice cream a winner.
  7. Salted Caramel Ice Cream: A fan favorite, salted caramel ice cream is one of those treats that you keep needing “just one more bite of”. The perfect balance of salty and sweet!
  8. Basil Chip Ice Cream: A modern twist on a classic! This ice cream features herbaceous basil as the primary flavor, with chocolate chips mixed in. Just as good (if not better?) than it’s twin sister. A great way to use all that fresh summer basil!
  9. No Churn Peppermint Bon Bon Nice Cream: A true DREAM! This ice cream is so light and fluffy, and arguably is better than the store bought version. This recipe includes options to add that minty flavor.
  10. Strawberry Banana Nice Cream: A sweet treat with a fraction of the calories! This nice cream is super creamy and tart from the frozen strawberries. Perfect to satiate your sweet tooth without undoing your day!

  1. I saw your ice cream segment on Twin Cities Live which brought me to your web site. Many of your flavors sound really good, but when you click on most of them you get Internal Server Error. I am not sure if you are aware of that and I wanted to let you know.
