Mimosas To Celebrate

Mimosas. A breakfast beverage that evokes pleasant memories of celebratory merriment. A family brunch on Christmas morning? Mimosas make it feel special. A spontaneous get together with friends? Only made better with bubbly. Mimosas signify moments that should be enjoyed and remembered.

While the classic recipe calls for orange juice and champagne, Prosecco, sparkling wine, or Cava, there are so many delicious iterations out there. And really, the sky’s the limit! Grab your favorite juice, get fancy with a liqueur, and pop the cork!

Fall Mimosa

Pear and Apple Cider Mimosas

When I’m wanting to take the celebration to the next level, nothing beats a sparkling cocktail. These Pear and Apple Cider Mimosas are THE thing to make! Especially in the Fall, when pears and apples are in season and abundant. Here’s how to make them!

How To Make Pear and Apple Cider Mimosas

To make these gorgeous Fall Mimosas, you’ll need just three ingredients:

  1. Apple Cider
  2. Pear Liqueur
  3. Champagne or any bubbles of your liking

That’s it! In a champagne flute, combine cider and pear liqueur, topping it off with champagne! Of course, you can garnish with whatever you like. I opted for a pear slice and sprig of thyme to keep things pretty. Simple, stunning, and delicious.

Choosing Your Bubbly

As mentioned, you can select whichever sparkling wine you prefer or is most readily available to you. Here’s a breakdown of some of the sparkling wines you can choose from!

Champagne

Produced only from grapes from the Champagne region of France, this classic bottle of bubbly has a fine effervescence and varying degrees of sweetness (Brut Nature is the dryest). Since it is exclusively produced in Champagne, it’s traditionally a higher price point compared to other sparkling wines (though very worth it!).

Prosecco

A personal favorite of mine, given it’s availability and lower price point, Prosecco is produced in the Veneto region of Italy. When I traveled to the Amalfi Coast last year, there was a lot of Prosecco enjoyed. The bubble in this variety is light and delicate, though it still packs a delicious punch.

Cava

The Spanish version of sparkling wine hails from the Cataloinan region. More similar to Champagne in the mouthfeel and degrees of sweetness, Cava is an excellent and economical  option.

Time To Celebrate!

Nothing makes a moment feel special like Mimosas do! Grab the ingredients for these amazing Pear and Apple Cider Mimosas and get to celebrating!

  1. I cannot wait to try the pear cocktail! I never knew there was a pear liqueur? Can I I use something different than that? Or in place of that pear liqueur?

    1. Hi Jody! It is so good! You can find pear liqueur at a number of local liquor stores – I found mine at Total Wine! A few substitutions: pear juice (I’ve found in a can!), pureed pear (strained), or pear simple syrup (1:1 sugar to water in a saucepan over medium heat until sugar dissolves: steep 1 pear at least 30 minutes until mixture cools!). If you try any of these I’d love to know how they turn out! 🙂
